New Business Owner? Do NOT Fall for this Corporate Compliance Scam!
A bunch of our users have recently reported receiving a letter in the mail from a company called Corporate Compliance Services saying they must pay this company $84 to receive labor law compliance posters or face $17,000 or more in fines! SAY WHHAAAATTTT?
If you’re like us, any official-looking letter you receive in the mail for your business gives you shivers of fear and dread. Most are harmless spam mailers trying to sell you something. But anything that looks like it came from some government entity sends us into a cold sweat.
If your business has received a “Corporate Compliance” letter that looks like the one here, be aware that IT IS A SCAM! This letter is very official-looking so you can see how this level of deception and trickery could be successful.
In fact, this scam is so prolific that this amazing woman from Dodge Legal Group created a video explaining it all for you.
The big reveal is that, depending on your business, you do need to post labor law compliance posters but you can download them from the US Department of Labor for free. Yes, that’s right, FREE. Do not pay this scam company $84.
Also, if you work at a co-working space, like WeWork for example, chances are they already post these labor law compliance posters, but you should ask them.
